The theater performance at the high school this coming weekend is a must-see. We were there for the show on Friday, Nov. 10, and it knocked our socks off.

The production of “Sophie” was extraordinary. Alivia Jones and Emma Rose DeSantis delivered absolutely stunning performances — among the best acting we have seen. Following this weekend’s show, they will be heading to China, the only cast from the U.S. to perform in an international theater festival for young artists. Your ticket purchase will help them get there. Just as important, it will buy you a very satisfying experience.

The evening is a double bill, opening with “The Waiting Room,” an original play by VHS student Kate Lande. It is an impressive script by a young writer— thoughtful, funny and entertaining.

In this challenging time of discouraging news and world crises, it is a refreshing boost to take in the positive energy and abundant talent of these inspiring young people. Don’t miss it.
