Drama Dock is remounting the seasonal farce “Inspecting Carol,” which played to sold out shows five years ago. The new production, directed by Chaim Rosemarin, will open Friday night — with a preview show on Thursday — at the Blue Heron.

Described as “A Christmas Carol” meets “Noises Off” meets “Waiting for Guffman,” the play reveals what happens when a theatre company — in dire financial straits — learns an inspector from the National Endowment for the Arts will soon arrive to determine if the company is worthy of a grant. Things inevitably go wrong. Into this chaos walks a wannabe actor who is mistaken for the NEA inspector, and bedlam ensues.

The Thursday preview performance starts at 8 p.m. Evening shows are slated for 7:30 p.m. on Fridays, Dec. 19 and 26, and Saturday, Dec. 27. The matinees are at 2 p.m Sundays, Dec. 21 and 28.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors and $5 for the preview.

Tickets are available at the Blue Heron, Heron’s Nest and at the door, depending upon availability.

Please note: Dialogue includes language for mature audiences.
