Café Luna will exhibit the fine art photography of island photographer Lori Kay.

Heron’s Nest will feature Mary Lynn Buss’ 50 mixed-glazed, hand-formed bowls. Clay water birds of Puget Sound made by Tara Brenno’s fourth-grade class at Chautauqua under the guidance of Vashon Artist in Schools artist Liz Lewis will be in the window.

Hinge Gallery will open “In the Studio,” which will show some of the projects the gallery has been involved with along with new work by several local artists.

Raven’s Nest will feature “The Great Blue Heron,” a collection of Northwest coast imagery prints by Israel Shotridge, Ally High, Sue Coleman and others.

S.A.W. will celebrate its third anniversary with cake and champagne and feature works by 15 island artists.

Hastings-Cone Gallery next to Snapdragon will open “His & Hers,” with work by husband and wife duo Donald Cole and Joan Wortis.

Students from Vashon High School’s marketing class will manage The President of Me and create a display for the evening. A portion of the evening’s sales will go toward the Vashon Community Scholarship Foundation.

Spoke Gallery will continue to show work by Dennis Clouse.

“Facing Latinos on Vashon Island,” an exhibit of portraits by Pam Ingalls, will open at The Hardware Store Restaurant, with music by Daryl Redeker.

Two Wall Gallery will exhibit three photography shows by students from two island schools. See story on page 12.

VALISE will show a collection of island art inspired by Pablo Neruda’s poem “Ode To The Spoon.” Islanders can vote on the art.

VAA Gallery will present the Vashon High School Student Art Exhibition, a biennial show featuring work by 30 advanced students.

Mother and daughter duo Marj Watkins and Suzanna Leigh will show watercolor paintings and oil portraits at Vashon Community Care.

Vashon Intuitive Arts will show collages and paintings by Sharon Hines-Pinion.
