Art historian Rebecca Albiani will return to Vashon Center for the Arts for Art Talks at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Tuesday’s talk will focus on French Impressionist Claude Monet after he settled in the town of Argenteuil, a 15-minute train ride from Paris, in 1871. His friends — Manet, Renoir, Sisley, Pissarro — visited frequently, often copying Monet’s work.

The artists exhibited their paintings in 1874 and were dubbed the Impressionists.

Tickets are sold at VCA, Heron’s Nest and vashoncenterforthearts.com.
