Rhythm and romance of 1940s swing at the Bike

Delilah Pearl and the Mantarays will evoke the romance and rhythm of the 1940s vocal jazz/swing standards — with a touch of R&B and soul — when they play a show at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Red Bike.
Delilah Pearl is island musician Christine Goering’s alter ego. On the band’s website, Goering writes “Delilah Pearl was born out of terror. I was so full of stage fright it kept me away from music for a lot of years … but music is inside me. So, I came up with a name persona. Now I’m not afraid of anything, I’ve been performing for so long. But Delilah has taken shape on her own and people look forward to the outfits, myself included.”
Joining Pearl are Dodd Johnson on drums, Michael Whitmore on guitar, Tim Kehl on piano, Barry Cooper on trumpet and Toliver Goering on bass.
The free-cover show is open to all ages until 11 p.m., then 21 and older only.
