Interactive Shakespeare improv comes to VCA
Published 1:30 am Tuesday, August 1, 2017
Jet City Improv will perform an irreverent Shakespeare improvisation of “The Lost Folio” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Kay White Hall.
Jet City is a Seattle-based improvisation troupe now in its twenty-fifth year of presenting a ‘no holds barred’ approach to comedy and satire. The Lost Folio is one of Jet City Improv’s most popular plays, with actors performing a fully improvised play in Elizabethan style using the language and themes of renowned poet and playwright William Shakespeare.
In this accessible version of Shakespeare’s works, the audience is invited to add plot devices, suggest character flaws, and steer the story to its unexpected conclusion.
Tickets are available at Vashon Center for the Arts, vashoncenterforthearts.com and Heron’s Nest Gallery.
