A pie for PIE on Pi day

On International Pi Day, March 14, Vashon Sheepdog Classic director Maggi McClure dropped by to see Partners in Education (PIE) Co-President Jenna Riggs, presenting her with a marionberry pie and a surprise donation of $5,000 for the educational nonprofit.

PIE offers Vashon Sheepdog Classic spectators the unique opportunity to sponsor a dog and handler team. “Sponsoring a dog gives you an insider peek into the world of sheepdog trials — our favorite part is meeting the dogs and handlers,” said Kathryn True, a repeat PIE dog sponsor, during the 2017 event. These limited and popular team sponsorships open in early May, cost $100, are partially tax-deductible, and will help fund teacher grants awarded in the 2018-2019 school year.
