High flying: The Open Air Aerial Festival returned to the grassy meadow of Open Space on Saturday, August 2, where talented aerialists flipped, twisted and teased gravity for a large admiring crowd below.
Email change: The Beachcomber this week switched to a new email hosting service, and while it is fully operational, there is a possibility that some messages sent to us may get lost as we re-build our spam filters and iron out the folds of the new system. If we don’t respond to your email, we may not have received it, so feel free to message us again after a day or two. You can always reach the news staff at editor@vashonbeachcomber.com, and advertising at publisher@vashonbeachcomber.com.
Fee discount: If you qualify as a low-income household in unincorporated King County, you may be eligible for a 50 percent discount on the annual surface water management fee on your primary residence. The open period to apply is every year from August 1 through September 15. Learn more about the fee discount at kingcounty.gov/swmfeediscount, call 206-477-4800, or send an email to wlrdswm@kingcounty.gov. Residents already approved for the King County Senior Citizen and People with Disabilities Reduction through the Assessor’s office do not need to apply.
