Kids ages 3 and up can find plenty to do this summer, thanks to an array of camps provided by Vashon Allied Arts (VAA).

Art Camp offers a week of artistic experimentation for kids, culminating in a student art show. Camps are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There are still openings for ages 7 to 10, July 7 to 11.

Flower Fairies of the Forest, for ages 8 to 11, lets artists create wings, fairy dust necklaces, teeny twig fairy furniture and more, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m Aug. 5 to 7.

Two theater camps offer stage experience to two groups of kids. Those ages 4 to 6 will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m. July 28 to 31, acting out familiar stories with a twist. Thespians ages 7 to 9 will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Monday to Thursday, June 30 to July 3, to brainstorm story lines, create characters and write their own scripts to perform.

Dancers as young as 3 can enjoy Creative Movement and Beginning Dance Camp Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 11 a.m. to noon Aug. 19 to 28. Beginning Ballet/Modern Dance for ages 6 to 10 will dance 12:30 to 2 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Most of the kids’ clay camps are already filled, but Clay Camp for ages 6 to 10 still has slots; it’s scheduled Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., August 11 to 14. Camps are held at Blue Heron Pottery at the Beall greenhouses.

There’s also still space in vocal camp, from 10 a.m. to noon, June 30 to July 3, where kids ages 6 to 10 will practice vocal technique and learn repertoire from “Schoolhouse Rock,” “Little Mer-maid,” “Jungle Book” and more.

Schedule, registration and scholarship forms are available at the Blue Heron or online at www.vashonalliedarts.org. Or call VAA at 463-5131.
