The slogan used by those urging us to support the school levy, “Campaign for a Healthy Community,” seems odd. We have miles of quiet roads and wooded trails for walking, running and cycling. We are an island surrounded by water for paddling and swimming. We all have ample opportunities for healthy exercise.

One suspects that these new, proposed improvements, increased enrollment from off-island students and the new high school add considerably to the prestige and resumes of those involved with our schools.
