ENTERTAINMENT

Streaming service obscenity not for me

I’m not uptight. As far as I’m concerned sex is fine as long it’s among consenting adults. Occasional profanity is okay too. I don’t think there’s anything obscene about our bodily functions. And nudity is fine almost any time, anywhere, except possibly in front of children.

But what I don’t get is the strange point of view expressed by so many movies on Hulu and Netflix. Their view of what constitutes entertainment is either very out of touch or we are a very sick society. They are constantly showing us people defecating, urinating, vomiting, torturing, and serial killing. And let’s not forget horrendous war injuries, surgeries, murder, and child molestation. There’s also a hell of a lot of sexual intercourse, as if they think they’re trying to teach us how to do it.

And the big question is, why do they think this stuff is entertaining? Many of our finest movies don’t include any of that crap. We don’t get TV anymore, having decided it was trash. Soon the internet and its trash movies will be gone from our home. Is this really our planet?
