Would islander share her vaccine views with those who have suffered from measles?

March Twisdale writes that vaccinating children against measles is “guaranteed to harm” while not vaccinating represents a “super small possibility” of harm (“Legislation threatens informed consent,” April 5).

Tell that to the 700-plus people who have come down with measles in this outbreak, 66 of whom have had to be hospitalized. Or the families of the approximately 500 American children who died each year before we had the measles vaccine. Would she be willing to repeat this claim to parents of the nearly 110,000 children who lost their lives last year for lack of the vaccine? I doubt it.
