Art Studio Tour includes some festive Friday night openings

Pam Ingalls will preview her new work at The Hardware Store Restaurant from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday night. Her oil turns everyday objects, interiors, portraits and Italian scenes into works of art.

The Two Wall Gallery will again host the Vashon Tile Guild’s group show in December and will be open Friday night as part of the Gallery Cruise and throughout the weekend as a destination in this year’s Art Studio Tour.

The show will feature new work by guild members as well as new signage for the Dockton history trail project. The trail signage incorporates tile installations, made in part with shards of historic pottery collected from the beach.

Anita Halstead, coordinator for the Dockton history trail project, will attend the First Friday event and will answer questions about the project.

VALISE, an 11-artist collective, will offer up a show that celebrates the “warmth and chill” of December with multiple transformations of materials, climate and temperament.

Works in the group exhibit range from miniscule gifts of fire and ice, the self-portrait of a very famous artist dressed for a holiday and fairy tale characters “close to the point of ignition,” organizers say.

The gallery will be open 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Waterworks Studio on Maury Island will open at 6 p.m. Friday night as well as during the Art Studio Tour Saturday and Sunday.

Its artists include Darsie Beck, Christine Beck, Lindsay Aickin, Mike Maher, Jordan Beck, Bob Horsley, Ginny Ciszek, Kate Rutherford, Vicki Browne, Ray Pfortner, Heidi Richards and the Lavender Sisters. Darsie Beck will read from his new book, “Your Essential Nature, A Practical Guide to Greater Creativity and Spiritual Harmony.”

The studio is located at 7012 S.W. 240th St.
