Lyons has written original music and performed since 1979. She was a founding member of the Seattle band, The Social Lites. Their 1984 debut EP, “Social Lies” was in heavy rotation on the radio. Laurie then went onto study jazz with local legend Fred Radke.

Lyons spent most of the 1990s learning the healing arts. She became a licensed massage therapist, incorporating sound healing techniques into her practice.

In 2002, she took a songwriting course taught by Ray Davies (of The Kinks) in Devon, England. While in England, Lyons met singer-songwriter John Dredge and formed the acoustic duo Dredge and Lyons. In 2004 they recorded and performed songs from their unreleased CD, “Tangled Net of Thorns,” at acoustic clubs in England and on the West Coast.

Lyons moved to her new home on Vashon Island in 2006. Her Café Luna show will showcase original songs and some favorite covers. More information and a sampling of music can be found at www.myspace.com/laurielyons.
