Young actors will romp in lively ‘Mary Poppins, Jr.’

A cast of more than 30 exuberant theater kids, in grades six to 12, will take to the stage to perform “Mary Poppins, Jr.” this weekend at Vashon Center for the Arts.

The show, directed by Marita Ericksen and Chris Dawson as part of VCA’s longtime musical theater education program, will have performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Sunday, Nov. 18, in the Katherine L White Hall.

A “pay what you can” dress rehearsal performance will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15.

Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and the classic Disney film, the song-and-dance-filled show is, of course, a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious adventure about everyone’s favorite practically perfect nanny.

Tickets, $6 for students, $10 for VCA members, $12 for seniors and $14 general, are on sale at vashoncenterforthearts.org.
