LETTER: Vote ‘yes’ on school levy

I urge everyone to vote “yes” on the school levy, which is on the Feb. 13 ballot. This is not only for the good of the students, but also the good of the community. It ultimately enriches us all.

This levy will provide the funds to supplement basic state-provided education funding for programs and services. This includes additional arts and music programs, AP courses, teachers, counselors and additional enrichment programs for special-needs students.

Yes, there is a cost to us, but the cost of ignorance is even more expensive. Now, more than ever, we need to provide the assets to turn out well-educated, enriched students. Please join me in supporting our schools to be among the best in the country.
