Celebrate the season with First Friday Gallery walk

Most galleries and arts spots are open from 6 to 9 p.m.

Café Luna will exhibit a new show of oil paintings by Kathy Larsdotter called “Images of Home and Heart.” The show will open Friday and run through the end of January.

On Friday night only, Hinge Gallery will present a trunk show with unique pieces of jewelry from Vashon Collective luxe designers Kimberly Baker, Grace Gow and Moth and Crow. The gallery will also show etchings and paintings by Brent Houston.

The Vashon-Maury Island Heritage Museum will open “Vashon and World War II, A Personal Collection,” curated by Vashon High School senior Kjell Urban. Urban has been collecting Vashon-related World War II memorabilia since he was 9 years old. The exhibit will display Urban’s collection .

Island Paper Chase will show holiday garlands, mobiles, poinsettias, wreaths and Christmas balls in its new storefront next to Glass Bottle Creamery.

PSCCU will exhibit the silk wall hangings and blown glass beads of longtime island artist Virginia Sager. Music will be provided by CatBird — Mary G.L. Shackelford and Jim Burke — playing a mix of old time jazz and ballads on guitar, mandolin and banjo.

Raven’s Nest will feature Native designed tree ornaments and handmade pieces of jewelry in sterling silver, copper and brass by Sue and Israel Shotridge. The new holiday collection is called “Geometric Jewelry.”

SAW will show watercolors by another longtime islander, Janis McElroy. The artist finds inspiration in the flowers and bees in her garden and the birds outside her window. This will be her first show of original work.

Pam Ingalls will open her annual show at The Hardware Store Restaurant. “After Melinda, Paintings of Croatia and Northern Italy” will run through December. Daryl Redeker will play guitar from the stage above the gallery.

VALISE Gallery will continue to exhibit its annual member show, “Five by Five.”

VCA Koch Gallery will hold its annual “Masters in Miniature” show, with 46 artists participating.
