World-renowned classical guitarist Enrique Henao will play a benefit concert on Friday night. The concert was organized by King Caramel’s Hedy Anderson and will be held at The Sugar Shack, the former Little House building and the new location of her business.

Known for his soulful interpretations of flamenco and his rhythmically intense renditions of the music of Latin America, Heneo is a master of classical and jazz music. He has performed on concert stages in over 80 countries, garnering critical acclaim as one of the world’s finest guitarists. Henao has appeared on “The Mike Douglas Show” and “The Tonight Show” and performed for heads of state, including concerts at the White House and the Vatican. Captivating audiences with his charismatic style and spirited solo interpretations, Henao has also performed during his 50-year career with a long list of music legends, including Charlie Parker, Sammy Davis Jr., Julio Iglesias, Johnny and June Carter Cash and Andres Segovia.

Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit organization “A Barefoot Mile Foundation.” The foundation’s mission is to help bring sustainable health care, education and economic services to disadvantaged communities in rural Malawi, Africa. The concert’s proceeds will also help provide prosthetic surgery for a 12-year-old Malawi girl who lost her foot in a cooking fire when she was a toddler.

Henao will perform at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The suggested donation is $10. Refreshments will available, and families are encouraged to attend.
