Whim W’Him dancers return to Vashon to open their fall season

The company’s season opener will show a mesmerizing intersection of movement and emotion.

Whim W’Him Seattle Contemporary Dance will present a mesmerizing intersection of movement and emotion in its season opener, “FALL ‘23,” to be presented at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at Vashon Center for the Arts (VCA).

The performance is the latest showing on Vashon in a fruitful partnership between the acclaimed dance company and VCA.

The production will showcase the dynamic talents of Ingenious choreographers Hannah Garner, Dava Huesca, and Ana Maria Lucaciu, as they unleash their innovative creations onto the VCA stage.

Every year, the Whim W’Him dancers select three choreographers from hundreds of applicants seeking to work with the company.

Breaking away from convention, these extraordinary artists have embraced the power of collaboration and self-expression, resulting in a profoundly personal program with three exciting new choreographic voices presenting in the Seattle/Vashon area for the first time.
