Football: Pirates pummeled by Klahowya at home

The first league football match of 2016 resulted in a loss for the VHS Pirates, who fell at home to the Eagles of Klahowya High School: 35-14. Vashon is now 0-4 for the season.

The Vashon High School girls' soccer team accumulated a loss and a win last week, bringing its season record to 4-1-2 so far.

Runners set personal bests ahead of Saturday home meet

Last Saturday saw the Vashon High School Pirates cross-country teams travel to King's High School in Shoreline for an invitational consisting of 12 teams. This was the Pirate harriers' fourth event of the year in preparation for Tuesday's home meet.

Vashon took the worst pounding of its early season last Friday when the Pirates played a non-league game against the Mount Douglas Rams from Victoria, B.C., losing at home 49-12.
