The Vashon Pirates lost their first game of the season in an error-filled debacle against Cedar Park Christian on Monday, April 4, by a final score of 11-5, but rebounded with two solid wins over league rival Charles Wright on April 5 and 8. The team’s season record now stands at seven wins and one loss.
With a big 520 bridge reopening party going on next door, collegiate, master and junior crews raced through the University of Washington’s Montlake Cut on Saturday under improving conditions as the day progressed.
The Pirates track and field season is off and running, as the modest but mighty 2016 team participated in its third meet of the season last Saturday at the Lil’ Norway Invitational at North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo.

The Vashon High School soccer team opened up the season last Tuesday with a lopsided 9-0 win against an outmatched, outpaced, outplayed Eatonville side.
